I just got back.
working on pictures.
give me 5 minutes or so. |
is this a full time thing or just a one night reunion? |
they got a few dates set up and an e.p. coming out on stillborn june 18 i think they said.. ive always liked scurvy... i hope the best for them, either kids are going to love them or hate them.. there's no real middle ground...
on a side note pale horse was awesome at this show.. |
six bullets: with leone on vocals, this band sound a lot better. it's hilarious seeing him on stage on not inthe crowd hurting himself. though for the last song, the bass player of scurvy came out and same so scott could go into the crowd.
pale horse: I had totally forgot that they were playing this show and had been one of the reasons that I convinced myself to come down to this show. they were good down in CT when I saw them, but damn have they gotten so much better. the music got so much more brutal as well as the vocals. by this time next year, I'm sure these guys will be much much bigger.
violent reality: these guys have been mia for a while. the performance was good, but back-up lows weren't there (probably cause the mic was messed up). then the drummer for swear to god came up to do cameo vocals on one track. they are going back into the studios to record more tracks.
swear to god: pure tough hardcore. lots of people were off for this band. there was a pig pile too. the set turned a little bad in the end cause there was the only fight of the night. the fight seemed more about people pulling people off each other. swear to god stopped playing at that point, but then decided to finish off their set.
scurvy: the reunion of the now 5-year defunct pirate hardcore band. what have they been doing for 5 years? I have no clue. I guess I just missed seeing them when I started going to a ton of shows. the music was hilarious, pirate themed songs about walking the plank, swabbing the deck, stuff like that along with heavy breakdowns. there's so song they do called buried treasure and everyone was pissed they didn't play it. I didn't know the track so I didn't care. I think a lot of kids now would like this band cause everyone agrees, pirates (like ninjas) are so cool. I guess everyone in western mass should re-live their childhood and go check this band out again. |

somemore fights and wild nights in springfield. to bad i wasnt there =( |
I thought the show was really great, especially for a Sunday night. I was most impressed with Pale Horse though. In my opinion one of the best bands coming out of CT right now, they get better every time they play.
i think we did a hell of a job considering |
six bullets are terrible....try playing somewhere else besides fat cats so i dont have to sit through another set off yours.....thanks |
thats fucked up. i bet you wont say that to someones face |
my review--
six bullets: better than the last time i saw them. the songs get a little repetative, and the vocals have a tendency to be really monotone. But those are both things that can be improved on.
pale horse: for a whole week, back in like october, all i had to listen to in my car was the pale horse demo. Needless to say this band grew on me considerably. Now i'm a big fan. They did an outstanding job.
Violent Reality: This band is a fun time plain and simple. I'm a fan. Great set.
Swear to God: I wish this band was half as popular in eastern mass as they are out west. Incredible crowd response for a great band that pays their dues and earns their success, which is alot more than I can say for most bands around here.
Scurvy: I'd been dying to see this band since like 1997. It was worth the wait.
Amazing show. |
Awesome show, great bands. I think it was Pale Horse who played second, I'm not sure, but they sounded great. Swear to God was good, always get good responses. Scurvy was deff. worth the wait, no doubt about it. |
Some kid was dying to see scurvy since before they were a band? |
jermy danced so hard his sleaves feel off |
Scurvy kicks ass. I still got the original CD when my bro first gave it to me. Good stuff. |
PALE HORSE: where the fuck are you?????????????????? Checking for show dates, can't seem to find anything upcoming. What's up with that??? |
guess i should look at this once in awhile... anyway, about scurvy. we're back for good, sort of full time. josh (bass) and henry (guitar) work for bands, so they're on tour most of the year, while dave (drums) and myself (dude who yells into microphone) are wage slaves here. so when dudes are not on tour, we're going to be playing shows. the next one is our "record release" with death threat (also their "record release") at the fat cat on august 22nd. we should definitely have the stillborn ep by then, and we'll be throwing ourselves into finishing off a full length immediately after that.
as for dudes who enjoyed the show... thanks. it was tons of fun, can't wait to do it again.
as for someone dying to see us before we were a band... as far as my hazy recollections go, our first show was sometime in 1996 at games and lanes (r.i.p.). but i could be way off on that. if someone has a flyer or knows for sure, feel free to correct me. |
