I heard I, Destroyer is on this now. Maybe Bog Of The Infidel too. I know there were at least two PVD bands I was told about playing this recently.
Bog couldn't do it. I, Destroyer said they could... but then apparently the guy booking it had a change of heart and didn't want anymore bands on the bill, or at least thats what i heard second-hand. but its unclear, because he doesn't return texts or emails from people to confirm either way. that's the last i heard of the issue.
mike asked me to make a flyer (i don't even know if it was communicated to us that we were responsible for, it just didn't seem like anyone else was doing it)... which i have no problem doing. but i still don't know if the line-up got settled for sure and i don't want to slight I, Destroyer over lack of communication. they're friends of mine, and i think this show is kinda fucked if a decent local (who can draw, and promote the show in providence) isn't on the bill.
i like septic flesh and its cool to open for them and all. but fuck, its a monday night with other competing shows and no one is promoting it. who's gonna show up other than whoever comes along with us and darkwor and maybe like a dozen or so diehard septic flesh fans who heard about the show on rttp and are willing to make the drive? these guys are cool enough to take time off from a tour to play this special show and they deserve better than that.
looking forward to a magical evening of mystery and wonder.

I booked this show, this being cancelled was some stupid rumor, this show is a 100% on, July 18 doors at 7 PM. SHOW ENDS AT 11 PM. Early show on a Monday night, doesn't get any better.

It looks a little off center because the painting was cropped on the cover of Ophidian Wheel. I could try and fix it up if anyone is interested in using it.
Next time, a sound check is in order. That is all. *headdesk* (It was at least loud, though, right? ;) )
(Thanks to Jon for having us out, BTW.)

Good show, Septic Flesh was good and amazing. It was a small show but nice and I bet they sounded better tonight then they will tomorrow at the palladium. Good time and SF was worth the trip!
holy fuck, septic flesh is a total embarrassment. never mind the hot topic uniforms and the fact that they are total princesses (fucking two hour sound check!). i don't think i have ever seen a band who's sound was that artificially manufactured. every instrument was turned way down and most of what you could hear was pre-programmed crap. it was like a brittany spears concert.
the thoughts on this show are polarized. how did it go?

Septic flesh has their drums, laptop, and vocals at the forefront, while the guitar and bass are literally non-existent. We used the same gear, so we had to deal with it. We could only play 3 songs...but I had the pleasure of using SF's kick pedals, their drummer is a good dude, I,Destroyer and nachoZ fucking killed it, and I got 2 free drinks, so I can't complain.

small turnout. doors were a hour and half late because of septic flesh soundcheck, kids stuck hanging out front the whole time.
i, destroyer was pretty fucking devastating.
i think we played ok. cut our set short.
darkwor was good, but their sound was muffled (not their fault, septic flesh dudes changed all their amp settings on them because they were borrowing their gear, sound guy didn't help much). couldn't hear the guitar, bass or vocals very well. they also had to cut their set.
i thought septic flesh sucked. even the old songs they played just seemed to get lost to the slick laptop produced bullshit. i don't know, maybe if they carried themselves less douchey i would be less harsh with my opinion...
john the promoter is a real nice guy. i feel bad coming down hard on him about the lack of communication leading up to this show. kinda pegged him as an older promoter who got back into things and just slacks. but really he's just a super fan who puts money up for shows like this to happen, has a great time seeing the bands he loves, and has no time or energy to do much promotion. he told me and mike that if something good comes up in the future he's gonna do it in boston and work better with opening bands so solid promotion can happen.
post-show new york system chili dogs were great.

ok, to be fair... septic flesh did put on a solid live show. they played like it was a packed house at palladium downstairs to a handful of people, which is cool. the younger kids up front fucking loved it too.
That bears repeating; for all the farting around beforehand, they didn't phone it in.

got there early and was a little pissed about the endless wait for an EARLY show.sitting through a SFs painful soundcheck made me run to the pizza joint down the street.got back in time for i destroyer who were fucking awesome, good to see some old school real shit being played and played well.very impressed by that band.i always like seeing nachzerer, solid and evil shit that rarely disapoints.i thought they were really good.darkwor were good too but i see what your saying about the sound, ive seen them before and the sound for them has been better,im assuming SFs know twittling on the soundcheck fucked them.Septic Flesh. I enjoyed seeing this alot BUT it alternated between the AWESOME old and brutal shit to some of the kinda faggy new shit...there was even one song that reminded me of a more aggressive marilyn manson that pissed me off.still they came all the way from greece and most of it was good, all around good night if you ask me.
