Ok, i may be outta the loop, but, is there something im missing here?

Ive never heard of ANY of the bands playing that NEMHF bullshit.

I'd like to think im hip, got my ear to the streets, check RTTP daily - im on top of shit.

But, what is the fucking deal with these bands and their names?? If you would to string all the band names together from that line up yesterday, you could quite possibly have ready-made lyrics that would probably fit the lyrical content of most of these bands.

I know its a "free country" and everyone has the right to start bands/play shit music.

Where are these bands from and how do they get to play a big stage like that and people know who they are???

Only 1 time i played that stage (with Cryptopsy years, years ago) - and nowadays i think i would have to smooch some serious ass if i wanted to play that stage again, or if i cared enough to do so.

I dont know what the fuck is happening..

these bands...the names....the look...the cheeky phony attitude....its all so....G A Y .

QUICK REVIEW:

METAL: Songs about SEX, DRINKS & METAL (Like the old gods would praise)

HARDCORE: Songs about hardcore stuff...social issues...blah blah animals..

METAL: Palm mutes / divebombs / out of control soloing (ala Slayer) / double bass / CRUNCH...

HARDCORE: Up tempo / breakdowns and bro-guy shit.

You guys know what im talking about....

To the true BM / Grind / Death / HC / powerviolence whatever bands on RTTP: Keep it up, there are many of you that are fucking awesome....

Thanks RTTP, i just needed to get this off my chest.

Rev, please dont let this site turn into another Full Moon Prod. Forum.

please.

I dont know how to end this??? Death to False Metal??

Death to Poseurs?? Kill all suburban "metalheads"???

hahahahaha im gonna go kill myself - have a great day all!!

good post.

NEMHF is a mainstream fest, most of those bands are packaged products from the record companies. They serve the younger mainstream metal crowd, that arose from the indie rock explosion, metalcore, decline of hardcore...all that combined to form this shitfest, resulting in maximized profits in 2011.

Stay away from the candy-coated shit and keep playing the good stuff. Out of sight, out of mind.

Don't get discouraged by the faggotry that is the NEMHF, just ignore it or laugh at it. With metal being popular right now, there is a plethora of horrible shit to sort through, but still there are solid bands making great music. The teeny-bopping fruits that support the terrible music will jump to a new trend in a couple of years and the rest of us can go on listening to and supporting the music that we always have.

ditto I have not heard any of the thurs bands .. old and out of the loop haha

This thread delivers. all statements are true. Popularity breeds garbage. The storm will pass. Take solace in the fact that all these acts will be tossed aside by their labels and "fans" once the bubble bursts. To add insult to injury all the musicians will have sullied their names and be forced back into obscurity, complete with their horrible full body tattoo suits they so carefully planned out out between the ages of 18-19. Hopefully these will be the best years of their lives and worthy of having them documented on their bodies.

In all seriousness, this is why metal needs to have a semi-conservative approach.

i think the op user name sums it up. old fart. im about 30 and i have no idea what all the 20 year olds are into these days re: whoever is playing the metal fest this year. so i can only imagine how lost someone 40 or 50 could be when it comes to new shitty music.

toggletoggle post by Randy_Marsh at Apr 15,2011 12:49pm
there was a band on the front page of RTTP playing the fest called "a bullet for a pretty boy".........oh COME ON!

faggotry at its finest.

toggletoggle post by oscarct  at Apr 15,2011 12:51pm
all these bands remind me of the 80's glam scene, all style no substance.

toggletoggle post by nickstranger  at Apr 15,2011 12:53pm
