haha. here's the history. we started out in nov 08 as a stoner doomy rock band. the guitarist at the time decided to change the style like every week. so at the end of his stint in the band we were a black metal band. so he's not with us anymore. we got a new guitarist, now we are an angry hardcore band with a dash of thrash.
here's some lyrics:
another notch on your twat
here comes the money shot
hold your breath the end will come
underneath the dying sun
no self respect you dirty slut
no self control i've had enough
a hollow shell with empty eyes
youre lost to me i'm dead inside
last time i played there they had this excellent seasonal beer. hopefully they have something like that this time. i'll just get all liquored up and eat pizza then i wont care if i get stabbed haha
i'm pumped about this show. I thought Pathogenic's set at NEDF was much better then the reaction they got. Real awesome rhythms, but i wasn't to hip on the clean vocals... still an awesome band though.
I have pictures of all the bands sans Led to The Grave. sorry guys, missed your set. anyway, will have them uploaded by tonight on the Distortion Images myspace. www.myspace.com/distortionimages
great show, i really thought it was going to suck when we got there, but it ended up kicking ass. i mean no disrespect at all with this, but the vocals just don't work for Pathogenic. the music is fucking phenomenal, i love the Meshuggah-esque vibe, but the vocals just don't fit.

what about the vocals doesn't work? what do you think would work better? we're starting to re-record our album so any constructive criticism you can offer is appreciated.

i think he's saying to just stick with the harsh vocals because the clean doesnt fit with the style of music. i agree with him partially but i can see what you're trying to go for.
imho: a good balance between guttaral and harsh type black metal vox i think would sound pretty rad.
i think people always respond harshly to clean vocals over death metal, there was some good harmonies, but its always more brutal with a nice mix of harsh highs and low gutturals
the clean vocals felt out of place, and detract from how pissed off the riffs are. it felt unnatural to hear a singing harmony with a crushing down-tuned riff. also having two vocalists do roughly the same thing seemed odd, the singer without the hat sounded like he could handle it just fine on his own.
