I got 3 hrs of sleep last night and got up at 3:45am. I don't feel like dealing with the palladium tonight so I'll probably hit this show. if it runs late... I will shit in my palm and toss it at the drummer.
here now. some band dropped. usra was ok overall but the harmonies where the shining part of the set. that is when the lead singer's voice didn't crack.

Haha funny set. Hive Smasher is a second away from playing a guerilla(sp?) set in Tylers party.
I shouldn't have posted Joe's gay porn photo because now I see it every time I open this thread.
Aside from that, here is my review:
Usra - Nice guys, ok sound. I wanted more from them, and I think one day they will get there. For now, they are still developing. The guitar player did some fun sweeps out of nowhere though. Completely out of place but still kinda cool.
HYEO - We played sloppy as hell but had a lot of fun. Mike did great for his first show with. Keep in mind he's only had about 6 practices to learn everything, plus he wrote one song with us. I can't wait till I get my Butcher back, the Crate I borrowed from Chris needs to be retubed so badly... Microphonics cause it to squeak and it has mud for tone.
Reign In Ruin - Not my thing, but they had a lot of fun and energy. Old school kind of early-mid 90's Sepultura / Pantera metal. Also nice guys, which is a big thing when you're playing a show with a band you've never played with before. I think they could do well with people into that stuff.
Astronomer - Impressive! I've seen this band a bunch of times. Then there was about a year hiatus, and they've grown much in that time. The two Joe's are all that's really left of the original line-up, and Joe Cobra was unavailable. Aaron did well filling in, much better than when that guy filled in for Hivesmasher before he joined. I can see Astronomer doing bigger things once they get the chance.
Deny The Crown - Well, I've been playing more or less metal and hardcore shows on a very regular basis for the last 4 or 5 years, and honestly, I can't get into mosh metal anymore. It's just not where I am at. The Poison The Well cover was fun, but they also emphasized the breakdown parts more than in the actual song. They did have energy, they did have presence, so they got that going for them. I would suggest one thing: play fewer songs. I think there was about 10 or 11 songs, but you only need aboout 6 or 7 for a set, if that. At any rate, I should see them again so I can give a more fair review...I was kinda tired and VERY hungry by then.
im just repeating what some one else already said !

I was at this show. over all, it was a good show. i was not to crazy about HYOE. but Ursa and Deny The Crown were real good. Deny The Crown is very energetic and into their own music. easier to apprieciate a song when the band playing looks like they like it too. Astronomer/AstroSmash/HiveSmasher/etc was good. they were a little drawn out and long, but they have some sweet riffs.
reign in ruin was good. they are young and unpolished/unrehearsed. if they tighten up they could be a really good band. they were good though.
What was it that you didn't like about us? Not looking to start a confrontation or anything, just curious.
