New site? Maybe some day.
|
7 years ago or so i let a friend of mine (who then moved away with about 50 of my cds) borrow my entire digital hardcore collection. i was heavily into it all through high school... in the mood to somewhat rebuild a bit of what i had before.. looking for anyone with something of the sorts.. atr.. ec8or. christophe de babylon.. nic endo. heartworm.. shizou.. i just want to throw some music on my external rather than buying a bunch of music i will barely listen to.
|
|
Apparently I am behind the times because I have no idea what this is. |
|
its pretty akward.. and annoying.. i was super into it when i was younger. just you tube hunted vids for a while.. thinking i might want a bit of a collection again.. memory lane. |

atr sucks dick
ec8or is decent.
bomb20 was decent.
christophe de babylon is good
I saw bomb20, ec8or, and then alex empire (with the girl from atr, the rappers the arsonists, and a horn player) in NYC in the 90's. I was there to see merzbow. This was at cbgbs. alex empire sucked so much dick that after an hour I had to leave and didn't get to see merzbow. he was also painted like the grey hulk.
I left and then saw an acustic dude in a pub. then left that and saw prince paul, mix master mike, cold cut, and a few other djs. the night ended with a second set by mmm. I think I was the only white dude not on stage. |

some of ae's solo stuff grew on me. |
|
I was more into rotterdam stuff, gabber ftw! even though all the gabber guys went on to do nothing but d n' b or techstep/jungle. |
|
yeah i was heavy into gabber too.. oh man i forgot about bomb20!! saw atr live in new york when i was in like 10th grade.. they were pretty aweful live and all of their newer shit (which is still old} is fucking horrible. but regardless... i still love it. |

is it hard fast electronic and annoying? yupp |

My old roommate used to actually produce a lot of this stuff; forget what name he went under. Maybe I'll have to look it up when I get home. I just remember lots of booming and screeching sounds coming out of his room at weird times, and one song he sampled Brujeria. |
|
LOL DHR, I used to be into this stuff from 8th-10th grade.
Now the only thing I really remember about it was playing GTA3 at my friend Pat's house and out of the blue him saying something like, "If you buy Hanin Elias' solo album you should hang yourself, it's the worst thing ever made" Well that and how hilariously corny ATR was when they stopped mid-song to shout gibberish slogans in broken English. |
|
what is a Delta 9 show like? D9'S music is heavier than metal |

I think I might have been at that Prince Paul show. I definitely saw him with Mixmaster Mike sometime in the 90's in what I remember was New York, but I swear I remember Dan the Automator there as well, but that's probably just my head filling in the blanks. Merzbow live on a bill with Alex Empire is surely what plays every night in hell.
And digital hardcore is one of the worst forms of music ever conceived! |
