This is going to be a fun show!! Lots of cool bands..... And, you can slam at the Lucky Dog!!
Graig will be busting it up on drums for GRAVEHEART & CSDO!! |

We should probably just rename ourselves, "Graveheart Formerly Blistered Earth" or "GFBE". |
How bout that old hound dog Rutcho with a double set too! |
The members of GFBE are total attention whores like that. |
how do you get to this place? |
got yer text:
Rt. 9 East into Worcester; at the top of Belmont Hill bear left onto
Shrewsbury St.; follow Shrewsbury St. to the end, a little more than a mile,
to the rotary; take your 2nd exit off the rotary, go under the bridge and
stay to the left; take a left at the light onto Worcester Center Blvd. (The
Worcester Common Fashion Outlets Parking Garage should be right in front of
you;) go straight and at the 2nd light take a left onto Green St.; the Lucky
Dog Music Hall is just ahead on the right. |
Yeah, don't go to Kelley Sq. You'll die.
That's right across from my work, haha. |

i should have given you my TomTom |
yeah yeah yeah. I'll get my own someday...
*shakes fist*
gut wrench is setting up right now. |
ok, it was fucking LOUD in there.
blacktrip: these guys were playing and it hurt my ears through my ear plugs. Then something blew and the stage right PA went dead. This band's from Boston. The vocals were short worded like napalm death's "death metal" phase. you know, shouting one word. sort of monosylabic. The band definitly doesn't know english very well. The singer sounded like krisiun's singer back at the palladium in 2000. When I walked over to the opposite side of the stage, all I could hear was the lead guitarist. If I stood close to the stage, he sort of sounded out of tune and the way too loud. If I stepped back to hear the guitar through the PA it sounded pretty good. In between one of the songs, the lead guitarist did a long solo with some blueish/rock sounding parts. Over all it was a bit too loud to understand anything beyond what I said.
This place is freakin' weird. The place seems like it was pieces together from the scraps of other venues in a jigsaw fashion. other venues from every different era... there's the 70's disco side, the 80's bar all covered with neon, the old renovated place from the 40's, and bathrooms covered in pin ups. it seems the only decades that haven't touched this place are the 90's.. and the 00's.. (how ever the hell you say this decade). The sound system they brought in is running off extension chords running all over the place and when blacktrip got off the stage, and loaded out the exit (which is in the middle of the stage) the heat kicked on and smelled like propane. That ain't good! I'm marking my way to the exits.... |
gut wrench: think they showed up late or something. There was a wicked long pause in between black trip and them. they ruled. Reminded a little bit of withered or something like that. Dual vocals (once the mics were fix). sort of mid-tempo for the most part. The drummer looked like he kept missing everything but it sounded perfect. In the middle of their set, the singer took a phone call over the mic. The guy wanted to buy a ticket if you were curious. I would definitely see these guys again. |
downfall: didn't play, but showed up a lot later.
frozen: they sounded really good on this stage. A stage that some how they were able to fit on even though there are 6 of them and all of overkill's stuff was on the stage. I don't know if that is colin or greg's drumset, but it sounded massive. It's also funny that people were mad when they didn't play jump.
graveheart: it's funny. even the blistered earth instrumental they did sounded so much better. For one, greg has become a much better drummer. I'm not sure how pete pulled off another band right after frozen, but he didn't look sweaty at all. They got screwed a bit with only getting time to play 4 songs.
candy striper death orgy: when they started, their old bassist was up o stage and the new guitarist was no where. Just as they started, the new guy ran in. It took him a song or two to get worked into the sound. This was probably the top CSDO show/crowd response I've seen yet. With in 3 songs, some dude was KO'd in the pit. The security was on their toes after that, but there were as many people moshing the sick mosh. Their set was also pretty short. |

Opening for Overkill is about as fun as eating a fried diaper. |

I didn't even know about this show until 2/3 the way through a 12 hour work day. Glad I made it, lots of fun, but damn my head hurts today.... guess I shouldn't have drank that last Narraganset. Not happy to be at work right now. |
good for your ego as well... |
Anyone have the setlist for Overkill? I was fucking obliterated and can't remember half the songs they played. I wouldn't be too surprised if the guy passed out in the pit was me. |
shaved head was during csdo |
wasn't me.
I was the guy with the shaved crotch.
Metal Church + Meliah Rage this friday.
Anyone goin' to that one? |

Ah, I can't remember Elimination being played, but I'm sure it was awesome. They played Powersurge from what I remember. Haven't heard that live in forever. |

good for them |
How's that good for them?
I'll be talking to Erik to set up more bigger shows here!! Everybody who came out had a blast We'll be back!! |
the show was very old school. I wished that there was a small room out the back of the club (fire exit) to store gear and leave more stage room for things.
overkill: as they were setting up (and for the wholeset) the drums were PAINFUL). the guitarist stage right was cut out. His unit was dead and for most of the set, he just ran around trying to fix it. This kept the rest of the band just sort of hanging out between songs waiting to see if they shound start the song with out him or not. It seemed like it would come back for a second then go away again. their set was awesome, but someone said that the band "demonic christ" was playing after them. I waited around but no other band played... Bastards! |
