New site? Maybe some day.
Absolutely loved it. I've seen it twice already. And I will see it again.
Totally fun.
Who has seen it? |
I saw it this afternoon with the wife. Totally fun flick! I had heard a lot of negative comments going into it, but I don't understand what everyone's problem with it was. It was two and a half hours of non-stop pirate action with a killer cliff-hanger. What more could you want!
Bill Nighy was fucking awesome and it's going to be great having him and Chow Yun Fat (samurai pirates!) be in the same film for the next one. |
I just came back from my second time seeing it as well. I like it way better the second time. My only gripe is the ending. I know they wanted to leave it hanging for the next sequal but christ, they didn't resolve anything. |
What the fuck...Chow Yun Fat? He's in this? |
Yeah, it was pretty kickass. The 3-way sword fight toward the end was awesome.
And I ran into someone from TYAG when I saw it too. I forget who he was, though, I think he was a guitarist in some incarnation of it. |

No, he's gonna be in the 3rd one. |

It's Empire Strikes Back.
I guess they filmed both at the same time (Dead Man's and World's End) so that's probably why we are left hanging with the resolutions. |
I have a feeling while Jack is in the Underworld he'll meet Keith Richards, who will probably be his father. |

They already announced that Keith is playing is father.
Oh, nice, on IMDB it didn't have him listed for any particular role, just his name...so I wasn't sure.
I thought there was the possibility that maybe he'd be the devil.
Who knows, maybe he'll be both. |
i really like the first movie, and i really like giant quid like things, but i thought that at least 75% of the scenes went on for way too long, making me dislike this movie. Also way more slapstick than the first.
It was pretty obvious this is the 2nd act of a 3- 4? part play.
first act you introduce everybody
2nd you put everybody in the worst possible position.
3rd you get them out. |
I loved all the scenes. It did have more humor, but at the same time, it had a lot more doublecrossing and betrayals....which is what pirates SHOULD do, so I loved that. The only character I don't like is Elizabeth, but that's because Kiera Knightly couldn't act her way out of a paper bag (but apparently coudl act her way beneath the desk of a casting director).
I just watched Domino too. It was pretty good, except for Kiera and the shitty rap music. |
Agreed on Kiera Knightley. She is by far the most annoying thing in these movies. The only thing I've seen her in where she was tolerable was Bend it like Beckham, but that just may have been because of the talent-void of Jonathan Rhys Meyers making everyone seem better than they actually were. |
Yeah the third script is already written and a couple scenes were filmed while filming Dead Man's Chest so they definitely do have a resolution. But I just don't want to wait that long haha.
Like I said before, from reading the plot of the third one I can tell it's going to be awesome. |
Keith Richards said he wanted the rest of the Stones to be in the movie too as a gang of viscious pirates but there was no room in the script for them. At least Keith Richards is still doing it. |
I can't picture Charlie Watts as being a viscious anything. The guy looks like my grandfather.

My thoughts exactly. |

twas i, good sir.
this movie was kickass. enough said.
did anyone stay to see the short clip after the credits? i don't fell like reading the whole thread because i am a lazy asshole. |
Yeah, it's just a continuation of the dog fleeing from the natives.
The dog becomes the king of the cannibal island.
There, now noone has to stick around. |
haha, that was the greatest way to ruin it for everybody. good job. heh heh
i wasn't sure if i wanted to stay through all those credits, but the thought loomed in my mind..."what the fuck happened to the dog?!" so i stayed. |
so the dog became the cooked king? I left once the credits started rolling and I am surely not gonna watch it again jsut to see a dog as a king. |
I'll make you watch it to see whether or not the dog got cooked. |
I was also with Mr. Richards.
The movie was really good. I wanna see the third one now.
Bonus points for the Transformers Trailer before it started too. |

Transformers on Mars though? That seemed a bit gay.
No cybertron will mean FAILURE. |
