New site? Maybe some day.
Into all things old school, From DYS, Slapshot, SSD, Youth of Today to punk like DK, Bad Religion, Black Flag. I am 28, and looking to bring back an old school band to tear up the scene. I have mp3s if you're interested.
I am in Boston, and I meant MP3s of me singing. |
I think you are probably posting on the wrong board to start a real hardcore band. The people who think they like hardcore here are dickheads like XmikeX who listen to thuglife wigger metalcore, or just metal kids who think Porphyria is the second coming of something even though they are as generic as bands come. |
Is there a better place to post? I need to get a band together, tried myspace and craigslist, no luck. I know I am going against the grain of todays "Hardcore" but if you don't remember the roots, it is no longer the same genre. |
Good luck. I hope you find a band, all the bands you listed up there kick ass. |
I am not sure really, I don't post anywhere else. Maybe on honeypump? I think there are some people there who probably dig real hardcore. |
In true dickhead wigger fashion I'd like to offer you some advice. Try the messageboard at www.bridge9.com. That's the big messageboard for stuff like that. It's also the big messageboard for drama and dumb shit that I don't read so be forewarned. Other than that just goto some shows in Brockton (every friday night) and talk to some people. www.myspace.com/brocktonshows for more info. Good luck with your band.
Oh and for future reference this messageboard is chockfull of knowitall nerds like JoeNotCommon who are pissed about God knows what and only listen to bands that have single digit fanbases. Be also forewarned. |
Also I think you should note that that style is huge around here right now. And there's a handful of really good bands playing that style (plus a huge pile of really weak immitators). I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding dudes who are about it. Once again, hope it works out well for you. |
Thanks Mike, I'll try the bridge 9. I used to really be into the scene and book shows in Worc. area. |

No politics just rock n roll annihilation.
FTW

Love it tender. |

I am into older thrash too. My tasets are all in the old school, when things get too technical, you lose the real emotion and energy that makes Punk and Hardcore what they were. People who didn't know how to play, but had something to say --- with passion. Not whine about girls leaving. |
