New site? Maybe some day.
anyone play it? is it worth it? |
I've got it, and I'm about a third of the way through the game. It's badass, especially if you are a fan of the early Super Mario games. It was worth my $34.99, but only b/c I've been waiting for a true return to the oldschool Mario gaming.
The multiplayer doesn't seem as cool as the normal game. |
Yeah, it's basically a revamped version of the old-school ones. They've got a mega mushroom, a mini mushroom, and a blue shell now. The minigames are all the same ones from Mario 64DS, though. |
it looks bad ass. I will be getting a slimmed down DS in due time. |
it looks A LOT like SMB3
I'm just waiting for FF3. that games story line sent chills up my spine. |
What's with the slimmed-down DS anyway? Is there anything else to it other than being slimmer?
And yeah, it reminds me a good bit of SMB3, although there's no racoon, hammer, frog, or tanooki suits. |
carina bought it for me today.
I think I forgot my DS at work though. lame! |
Flag this as a video game =)
Funniest part of this thread is that we were shopping and he was debating which game to buy..and made this thread..hehe |
I've pre-ordered the DS lite, it has many improvements, lighter to carry, stylus is stored on the side, brighter screen etc. I'm going to split the cost of the new one with my gf and give her the original DS.
Speaking of this stuff, I just got my PSP today and it's fantastic. |
i should look this up myself but fuck it, when is ff3 coming out for it? i'd buy a DS or a DS lite just for that game. |
The FF3 is a 3D remake of the actual third game in the series (not 6, which is was released in the US as FFIII for SNES).
I'm not a huge fan of remakes, so I hope it includes a lot of content. Until then, I'll stick to my fanslated ROM of the original. |
It's got some updated graphics. I'm not sure how much will be remade but I've seen at least some cut scenes in 3D polygons. |
ok, I just shat down in the bathroom and played for 10 minutes. the game is weird... they took all the great DS technology and then tried using it to make a game for the original nintendo. it's a lot like SMB (oringal) with a map like SMB3.
growing HUGE and getting TINY is cool |
Growing huge and smashing through the levels is a blast. Keep playing man, the worlds get a LOT better. The beginning is very familiar on purpose. |
I could only sit on the pot for so long. |
I've been playing for an hour or so.
on W-3 |
Righteous!
I'm currently addicted to four games for the PSP which I just got yesterday. But mostly, Lumines. Lumines. Lumines. |
I'm on 5-house or something like that.
I keep going back to earlier levels to get all the gold coins |
DHTH: is it possible on 1-1 to crash into the castle while huge?
I get wicked close. |
I'm not sure as I have not tried it yet. If it's possible, I'm sure someone already pulled it off. Just keep repeating the level and building up your speed. |
I've been playing W1-1 over and over when I run low on lives.
I'm at the last castle now.
but then I have to go back and get 4 and um.. 7 |
Right, after the game you go back for worlds 4 and 7.
I got the message too late to bring my DS. Next time. |
*shakes fist*
I have never wi-fi'd. and I think I should wi-fi before I Wii |
Do you have a wireless router? You can wi-fi right from home man... |
yes I do.
give me a link. I don't know how to get it to my router. oh, my router uses WEP. |
Unfortunately I don't have a wireless router. I need to get on that. |
ok, I'm going to try that tonight.
awesome!
I want to wifi with peoples! |
You'll still need to track down some DS codes for individual people, you can find databases around the web and on gaming sites. That's the thing about DS connectivity, you have to invite each other.
But many people are pretty open about invites. |
sounds like san fran in the early 80s |
ok, so I'm going back and trying to get into Lv4 and Lv7.
I just wasted like 30 lives trying to get a small mushroom out of that changer block in the middle of Lv5. |
I just beat level 4.
the houses in level 7 sort of suck. |
Holy fuck, my gf and I were doing multiplayer with her new Lite...
The DS is now 1000x greater. |
yeah, I need to figure out my replacement plan.
they are probably going to swap it out with a lite if I break it.
I wonder if I can pull the "I spent $220 on this DS and you are trading me for something that is $120?!?"
I did that once on a camera (like 6 years ago) and it worked. |
Aren't they offering $40 for the old one, in trade?
It's probably worth the $90 for the new one, that screen is fucking gorgeous...I am pretty jealous, but as far as gameplay, I can still rock her with the old DS. |
or.. I got a replacement plan for my DS for a reason.
and then get $220 towards a DS lite and whatever.
I think my plan > your plan |
Oh, I'm not spending a cent on the DS lite I can use one whenever I want for free...
So my plan > all |
there will be atleast week out of the month when you won't be able to use it. |
When Harvest Moon DS comes out, I won't be able to use it. I'll have to suffer for the dim screen. |
the lite is sooooooo sick. I just played with one I toys r us and it rules. so bright.the screen rivals the PSP. |
It is a beautiful thing, the screen brightness easily rivals the PSP (not the graphics though, but hey, that isn't Nintendo's gig). |
i_am_not_me said:
yeah... the whole game is in full 3d... it actually looks really good. i cant wait, personally. |
I need to find this game. |
I don't know if I'm going to be able to. |
Why not? It's not that hard. I helped my son beat the game at the end. Pretty good Mario game. |
cause I don't know where it is in my house |
Oh, I thought you meant you wanted to buy it. |
apparently from this thread, I owned it at one point. I wanted my little one to play it since for some reason, he watches youtube videos of people playing mario. I was looking for it and found my other DS games, but not this one. |
hm.. I still need to get this. |
