I know this is the same night as The Hellacopters/Nebula show and the Tides/Apse show, but here is another nice option if you are interested. |
aww, bum out!
I didn't even see this before I posted, haha |
Also, I don't know what time this starts, but people could prolly to make it to both this and the Tides show.. |
Definitely! I certainly plan to try. |
Drew, is Bugs and Rats still playing this gig? |
Check your email Joe, Circle just announced that they were "bringing" Cul de Sac with them on tour, and I had to drop a band due to time constraints (both CDS and Circle are going to playing for a good chunk of time). I'm not too happy that this was sprung so late in the game, and I apologize to the Bugs and Rats guys. |
I don't think they have any full-length songs online anywhere at the moment. I'll have some on my website soon and there a ton of clips over at http://www.aquariusrecords.org |
Cul de Sac rules ill be there, plus since i wont be able to see Dysrhythmia at O'Briens this is awesome show to replace that one. |

Great!

TT The Bears website says the show starts at 9:30. Does that seem a little late to be starting a show? I mean, from an angry neighbors point of view ;) |
nah..
only three bands
9:30 could be a little early |
Last time I saw Circle they played for a little over 2 hours, and Cul de Sac can play that long as well, so it will definitely be a full night of music. |
ok, now im really confused. Dysrhythmia sent out a myspace bulletin saying the show starts at 8:30. whats the OFFICIAL start time? |
double header night, yes ! |
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping their will be lots and lots of merch to buy at this show.
I am excited for tonight, but I might have to leave early. |
My sister is down from VT and coming to the show with me. Is anyone from the south shore going? |
it has come to my attention that I knew voidexpression all along (for many years in fact) and didn't even know it.
dysrhythmia: with colin in this band their songs sound more progressive which are also getting more aggressive. They played some stuff of their upcoming CD (may 2nd I think) and it rules. I remember their older stuff had a more wether channel sound to it. Over all the entire sound and everything of their set has been upgraded. Even the drums sound better. When they ended, they said they would be back and I was able to yell out the date. You could say that I saved the day. You could say that, but you won't. since all I did was read joe's thread. |
cul de sac: ok, for those of you who don't know this band, they've been doing sound tracks and sound scapes forever. They have worked with so many awesome musicians. Mostly, they make repetative sound scapes out of their instruments and the piles of things (lids to pots, potato mashers, spoons, etc...). Some of it has a mid-eastern feel. Other, jazzy. Anything to mix it up. Tonight, it was the spaey sounding band. They had a few songs that were more structured like "original" shoe gazing (not nivana and not the modern definition which is pop music). Some times, they would be whispy and ephimeral like my bloody valentine. Other times they would crash down like a big wave at the beach with crushing dissonance. they did a song from that thing with john fahey (sp?) and it ruled. |
Dawn said they sounded more new wave like mission to burma |

I meet so many people.. I never remember names. at this point, I just flat out tell people I have no clue who they are.
I typically remember faces. |
circle: I had been told they were like a nock off of sigur ros. And they were, for atleast one song. Then the singer changed and they broke in something that answered the question "what if turbonegro cover judas priest songs." it was pretty weird to say the least. |
oh, a bunch of conifer were there too. |
I'm so pissed I didn't go
I feel a sleep and didn't wake up until around 10pm
I didn't make it either, unfortunately. I spent the night with the family instead. |

A big thanks goes out to everyone who made it out on such a highly contested night! The new Dysrhythmia material is miles beyond what they have done before, so everyone go see them in May! Cul de Sac have always been incredible, and they proved it yet again tonight by dipping deep in their back catalogue with the Fahey cover (btw, if anyone is into Fahey, Cul de Sac's guitarist, Glenn Jones', material is a must have!). Circle were Circle (Sigur Ros knockoff? They predate the Icelanders by a good 4 years). Aaron left before the real rocking commenced, and they ended the set with their most Priest-esque tune that got more than a few people moving. Good times had by all, and thanks again for anyone that came out, and thanks to Aaron for the pictures!
