The situation with the reactor's is also insane. Its amazing what they stood up to and are only on the road to destruction, rather than being there. I read in a couple articles that the quake-resistant designs worked really well but that the weak tsunami planning for the reactors and their support buildings was what has caused the most trouble. BTW Rev it looks like the estimate you brought up the other day, that I thought was chinatown at the time, is looking less far-fetched.
