Jacob could not see his dead mother. Sawyer could see Jacob as a boy, after he had died too. Is it that people that are similar to the MIB can see dead people but people closer to Jacob "candidates" can not? So...Jack will be the next Jacob possibly. He's already complaining he doesn't want to leave like Jacob did as a boy. Sawyer is the opposite like the MIB, just wants to leave.
