Mike, man, I hate to tell you but Friedman is NOT worthy anymore. Have you heard his last album? J-pop covers of Rust in Peace songs, shit guitar work, and he has become (or actually ALWAYS WAS) very un-metal. Dave brought out some of the best in Friedman. He also saw fit to fire him, and even extended the re-invitation to Marty who blew it AGAIN a few years ago demanding money and shit.

Seriously... you're trying to compare this guy to Chris Broderick, a guy who has spent a HELL of a lot longer playing metal than Friedman EVER did? No way man. Friedman is great, so was Cacophony, but the guy is a collosal wank that not only played on R.I.P., but also helped steer the band to record RISK. Stop giving this cock-stain so much credit. He helped kill Megadeth in the first place. Why would he play on the comback albums?
