Bad acting, total crap gimmick marketing (at which Abrams has become an evil genius), and nothing to live up to the hype. From a technical standpoint it's kind of impressive, but that's only in the cinematography and editing. The handheld camera thing was run into the ground with verite and dogme, and we definitely don't need people doing it with shitty quality. It's good at having a badass monster destroying the shit out of everything, but it just seemed like a million dollar youtube video.
